San Francisco Zoo Dentzel Carousel Restoration Project Part 8
You just can't believe how gorgeous these panels have turned out! We are so pleased with the work that has been done so far. The attention to detail and quality of workmanship is evident to even non-carousel enthusiasts. This is turning out to be one of the finest restorations ever, thanks to the help of a large number of dedicated artisans and crafts folk. We thank them, and know that visitors to the zoo for years and years will thank them with their smiles of gratitude and enjoyment.
Jack Burr, with nearly 40 years of experience, is one of the finest freehand decorative artists in the business. We exclusively use him for all our carousel decorative work. No one does better.
Jack uses only his eye and his brush to produce work like this. His skill is now a dying art.
